Problems & Solutions

Nothing in this world is more important than being true to yourself, embracing every part of who you are, and celebrating it. But if you don’t feel confident when you smile, you can inadvertently close yourself off from incredible experiences – like making a new friend, or landing your dream job.

Because when you’re no longer afraid to smile you become more open, more honest, and more present in everyday moments. This is what we want for all of our patients. So, let’s do this San Diego County. Let’s uncover the true you by discovering your true smile.

Crowding Of The Teeth

Crowding Of The Teeth

Sometimes teeth can grow in too close together. This can cause crowding which can make your teeth appear pushed together. One of the benefits of braces is being able to make room for all of your teeth.

Open Bite: Front Teeth Don’t Touch

If your child was a thumb sucker, their front teeth could become separated causing a gap. If this occurs, braces and a special appliance, called a crib, is used to retrain the tongue for about 28 months.

Deep Overbite

Deep Overbite:
Lower Front Teeth Bite Into Palate

To correct a deep and severe overbite, older patients require braces and jaw surgery. Treatment for older adults with this problem typically takes around 2 years. For patients that are younger, a severe deep overbite can be treated without surgery. So, the earlier you get treatment the better.

Missing Lateral Incisors

Believe it or not, but some people can be born without their lateral incisors teeth. For patients missing their lateral incisors, our typical game plan is to put you in braces and then to fill in the missing teeth with bonded “Maryland” bridges so that the world will never know.

Underbite

There’s nothing worse than jaw joint discomfort and there’s nothing worse for your teeth than excessive wear patterns. This can affect everything from chewing to the structural integrity of your teeth. With proper treatment, we can improve both.

Spacing of Teeth

Sometimes teeth just need a little help. For those experiencing extra spaces between their teeth, we can close the gaps easily. Typically treatment takes about 24 months. And once we have your ideal bite and smile, we’ll glue in a special retainer to keep those spaces from coming back.

Overbite: Protruding Front Teeth

We tackle overbites in two phases. The first phase helps your jaws to grow more harmoniously while the second phase of treatment aligns your teeth and bite.
